A POPULAR retailer has opened its doors on a new location in York today (June 5).
Bosses at discount retailer The Works say they have had their eye on a location for ‘some time’ now. The 1,700 sq ft store is in the former EE unit at Monks Cross - in between Regatta and Pizza Hut – and will be the fourth store in the city for the retailer.

Work to develop York’s Coney Street and open the area up to the nearby riverside is due to start in the coming months, a director of the group behind the plans has said.
Speaking to The Press, Max Reeves, development director at the Helmsley Group, said the York-based company is aiming to start work at the site in September.
