Wilton arrives at York having gathered a wealth of experience within rugby league and rugby union at her native Australia.

The 27-year-old has previously captained Canberra Raiders and featured for BMD Premiership side Central Queensland Capras and representative outfit Monaro Colts in rugby league.

Meanwhile in the 15-a-side-code, Wilton has represented Australia ‘A’ and is the former captain of ACT Brumbies, who compete in the SuperW, the top-flight of women’s rugby union in Australia.

The hooker, who is also capable of being deployed at loose forward or half-back, will provide more options at nine following the news that Valkyrie Captain Sinead Peach will miss the 2024 season due to her pregnancy.

“She’s been part of the set-up of Australian rugby union national side which shows her pedigree and we’re really excited to see where here journey takes her here at York.”
