Ta’ai joins the knights from the Newcastle Thunder after his two-year spell there.
The 35-year-old is capable of playing both in the back row and as either a prop or loose forward and has ten Tongan international appearances to his name.
Head Coach James Ford said that he is delighted with the physicality that Ta’ai brings to the team. He also mentioned that he has caused problems for the knights every time they’ve played against him.
Ukuma joins Josh Daley and Ata Hingano as new signings, as well as Jack Teanby and Baily Antrobus, who have just signed new contracts for the club.
