As The Press previously reported, the long-awaited opening of the King's Inn in Shambles has arrived. Owner and founder Steph Blair - also the founder of LICC in Back Swinegate
- is joined by her partner in the running of this monarchy inspired pub.
In the site formerly home to Ristorante Barri, renovations inside the King's Inn have extended the space, and packed the walls with both British and Regal decorations.
The pub is named the King's Inn due to its long association with King Charles III, who visited the site as the Prince of Wales when it was a different pub.
Speaking in the new pub, owner Steph said: "We got here one day and thought 'lets just quietly open the doors' and people started coming in.
"Its been mental so far, we obviously had targets we wanted to meet but we've just surpassed them.
"We've had so many compliments on the interior design - people are loving it. The response has just been amazing."
The pub opened shortly after City of York Council approved its licence to serve alcohol.
