A couple are planning to breathe new life into disused floors above a York city centre bar by transforming the space into holiday lets.
Work is underway to turn the former office premises at 1 Bridge Street, above the Tank and Paddle bar, into three one-bedroom flats and a three-bedroom townhouse.
Lynne Haslam and Oliver Ker, from Huddersfield, were drawn to the property because of its city centre location, with views overlooking Ouse Bridge and King’s Staith.
The previous owner really wanted to [develop] it and saw the potential, but didn’t have the time,” said Lynne. “You can do great things with it.”
Speaking to The Press inside what will become the townhouse’s living room, Lynne said they bought the property for £460,000 after seeing it listed online.
