YORK'S most expensive private house has gone on sale with a price tag of £6 million.

Minster and Dean's Park.

Dating from the early 19th century, the family home spreads over four floors, offering more than 10,000 square feet of living space.

It has seven bathrooms and two bespoke dressing rooms.

A drawing room leads to a private raised terrace with landscaped gardens.

The Grade-II-listed house, built in the gothic style, also has its own leisure wing with snooker room, gym, and media room.

On the market with local company Prime Residential, York, for £5,950,000, the property is the most expensive private house in York.

Louise Hirst, director of Prime Residential, York, told The Press: "In my opinion Purey Cust House is the finest privately owned house within the city walls.
