IT was a proud moment for a York MP when he welcomed his former teachers and pupils from his old school to Downing Street.
York Outer MP Luke Charters MP took Huntington School students and two former teachers on a tour of parliament and they had a special stop at 10, Downing Street.
The visit was made even more meaningful by the presence of Joe Crabtree and Kat Wood, Luke’s former A-level politics teachers, who played a key role in inspiring his interest in politics.
Mr Charters MP said: "It was a real privilege to welcome students from Huntington School, where my own journey into politics began.
"I hope the visit inspired the students to think about how they can make a difference, whether through politics or in their own communities.
"I am delighted that they had a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament, where they learned about the workings of democracy, the legislative process, and the history of the Palace of Westminster.
"It was a surreal moment meeting my former teachers in Westminster.
