North Yorkshire Police say the pair have been arrested following a reported rape in York in the early hours of yesterday morning (August 28).
They say that yesterday evening, officers arrested two men, aged 20 and 18 and they both remain in custody.
As The Press reported yesterday, the incident occurred between 3.30am and 4am in Piccadilly and North Street.
The arrests followed an immediate and extensive investigation by North Yorkshire Police officers, including CCTV and forensic examination.
And the force says they are also keen to hear from any motorists or taxi drivers, who may have captured anything on dash-cam.
Detective Chief Inspector Shaun Page said: "This is a shocking incident, and I understand it will have caused significant concern in the local community.
