The General Tarleton, an 18th century coaching inn at Ferrensby, between Knaresborough and Boroughbridge, re-opened on Friday August 29.
This followed a major renovation by new owners Jeopardy Hospitality, a new venture comprising of Tommy Banks, Matthew Lockwood and local entrepreneur Neil Armstrong.
The pub, which also has eight rooms, had been closed since 2020 when it went into administration during the pandemic.
Jeopardy has an ambition to restore and re-open pubs across the UK and has already begun eyeing other sites in North Yorkshire.
General manager Sam Orbaum says more than 30 staff have been taken on at the General Tarleton, with more still sought as business grows.
Sam told the Press: “We expected to be busy. We knew that people were keen to check us out, customers coming to dine. They would be previous General Tarleton customers or fans of Tommy. Things have been really good, better than expected.”
