A TOP celebrity chef has revealed plans to open his doors on a casual city centre offering – alongside some local favourites.
Award winning chef and TV star Tommy Banks has revealed plans to open a pop-up stall in THOR'S in Parliament Street – something that will allow him ‘showcase his signature flavours in a relaxed, festival-style setting’.
Tommy achieved his first Michelin star at the age of 24 and owns three restaurants in North Yorkshire - The Black Swan at Oldstead, Roots in Marygate in York, and The Abbey Inn, Byland – and is a key part of the city’s culinary scene.
This is his second stint on Parliament Street after running a pie stall at the Christmas Market last year.
The menu will feature familiar favourite items such as beef tartare (from The Black Swan at Oldstead), kimchi fried chicken (from award-winning pub The Abbey Inn, Byland), pies from the Christmas Market, and specialist cocktails such as the Tommy’s Turbo Shandy – a zingy, refreshing summer cocktail featuring locally foraged liqueur.
Tommy said: “I’m really excited to be part of THOR’s this summer. York really comes alive in the warmer months, and it’s such a vibrant city, especially when the sun shines.
