North Yorkshire Police said the incident involved a woman in a white Land Rover and a man and a woman in a blue car at Monk Bar Car Park in St John’s Street around 1.30pm on February 2.
A force spokesperson said: “We’re particularly appealing for information from any witnesses who may have seen what happened.
