The county's police force has said they are at the scene of the crash on the A19 at North Kilvington, north of Thirsk.
Reports show it to be near the junctions with the A168 and A61.
It has been described as a serious incident.
"Highways have put in place a road closure and are diverting traffic from the scene," a spokesperson said.
They advised motorists to avoid the area.
