LNER has announced that, from 11.59pm on March 14, the long stay car park will be closed. They said this is so that a new parking facility can be built.
It comes as the current stage of the station gateway's second phase - the removal of Queen Street Bridge - is expected to finish.
From Monday, January 20 the left-hand lane in Queen Street approach to the Micklegate and Blossom Street Junction has been closed.
This stage of work was expected to last for five weeks, finishing in time for the closure of the long stay car park.
City of York Council said the completion of this phase of the station gateway scheme involved the purchasing of the long stay car park, as well as an area of land to the front of George Stephenson House. Both parcels of land have been acquired at a total cost of £2.8m,the council said.
