STRIKES at two York schools are set to go ahead today and tomorrow (June 24 and 25) after the two sides failed to reach an agreement.
As The Press previously reported, more than 100 teachers and support staff went on strike at All Saints RC secondary school and St George's RC primary in Fishergate on Wednesday, April 30, with St George's holding a further day of strike action last month.
St George’s will be closed to pupils and All Saints is only open to pupils in Year 11 and Year 12, the groups who will be taking examinations.
Those on strike will be National Education Union (NEU) members and last time there were picket lines at both school gates.
They say it is over issues they have with financial management at the Middlesbrough academy chain to which the schools now belong - Nicholas Postgate Catholic Academy Trust (NPCAT).
The trust say a restructured board, new directors and a new chair, Karen Siedle, has been appointed.
