Selby Abbey’ ancient columns will ring to the music of the Skipton Choral Society and York Railway Institute Band, performing in harmony on Saturday 10th December at 7.30pm.
The performance will include Mozart’s Requiem in a refreshing new guisefor brass band and choir, David Lancaster’s Of Trumpets and Angels – a setting of two of Donne’s Holy Sonnets by the Director of the Railway Institute Band – and will round off with Robert Webb’s King Arthur.
It will be the first appearance at the Abbey of Skipton Choral Society under the direction of Robert Webb although the outstanding acoustics of the Abbey make the venue a firm favourite of York Railway Institute Band
Doors open at 7.00pm and advance tickets (£15/under 18s £10) are available from the Abbey Shop or from ticketservice.co.uk/york-railway-institute-band or may be purchased on the door.
