Traffic is at a standstill with police not allowing pedestrians or cars down.
Motorists are being urged to avoid Norton Road.
A police spokesperson said: "Emergency services are at the scene of a collision in Malton and have closed Norton Road, Railway Street and Wells Lane near Yates.
"Motorists should avoid the area.
"Pedestrians can still access the bus and railway station.
"Thanks for your patience and understanding while we deal with the collision."
