Race Across York

Fans of 'Race Across the World' rejoice because now is your chance to prove what you've been sat in the living room saying since 2019, 'I could do that'.

Now is your chance to see if you were right because Race Across the World: The Experience is now available in York!

Following the success of Race Across the World: The Experience in London and Manchester last year, City Days have announced that the experience will be coming to York this Spring.

Just like in the show, this experience requires a vast skill set which includes strategy, teamwork and quick thinking.

Players will be given a budget to manage their race across the city.

This budget can be spent on clues which will enable players to navigate the next step of their journey and give them the freedom to choose how adventurous they want to be. 

In this high-stakes race against the clock through York's storied Snickelways , every decision made influences the race and could come as a cost.

Players will be scored based on their completion time and how much of the budget they have left, with their final score ranked on a live leaderboard throughout the day and week.

The team that completes the challenge in the fastest time with the most budget remaining will earn a chance to be crowned the weekly or daily champions.

The race is split into three distinct legs that weave through the heart of York and it takes participants on  a 4-5km mission which will take approximately two to three hours to complete.

Taking the adventure from the screen to the streets, teams will discover York's hidden gems and visit key venues across the city including pubs and cultural landmarks such as The Shambles, York Minster and more, all of which will act as 'check points' where teams must complete escape room-style puzzles to move onto the next stage of their race.
