North Yorkshire Police said they are searching for 31-year-old Mark Bell, from Cumbria.
The force said he was last believed to be in Thornton-le-Street near Thirsk at around 9.30pm yesterday (August 25).
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “We have been unable to contact him ever since and we’re growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.
“It’s possible he may have travelled to York, via a train from Malton at around 11.30pm.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing to locate Mark Bell and as part of our enquiries, we are asking for anyone who may have seen him, or who has information about his whereabouts, to contact us immediately.
