More than £12,000 has been raised to support the family of Cain North after he died from a brain tumour aged 24.
Cain, from Acomb, lost his battle with cancer in January – almost three years after he was given a year to live following his diagnosis in April 2023.
Cameron Coates, 25, who had been best friends with Cain since he was seven, set up a fundraiser to raise money for Cain’s family after his death.
The fundraiser raised £12,185 which covered the cost of Cain’s funeral, with the remaining amount given to Cain’s family.
