LIFE is on hold for a 20-year-old woman from North Yorkshire whose life has been blighted by chronic pain.

Amber London from Cawood near Selby suffers from endometriosis, a painful condition whereby tissue that is similar to the inner lining of the uterus grows outside it.

She says it leaves her in constant pain and fatigue and, despite countless hospital visits, her symptoms were often dismissed as 'just her age and hormones'.

In July last year, she underwent diagnostic laparoscopic surgery on the NHS, but it didn't work and now her single mum, Anne a home carer. is looking to try and fund a private operation.

She said Amber is training to be a personal trainer, has been unable to progress with her qualification or enjoy her love of the gym. Her daily life is dominated by pain, fatigue, and the inability to go out on her own.

"She's got no life. She loves going to the gym and doing her personal trainer qualification, but for the last few months she's not been well enough to go to the gym and if she does go she's in so much pain afterwards she's laid up for the rest of the day," said Anne.

"She struggles with her mental health because she's got no quality of life - she's had to get an extension on her course which she's doing online.

"Her life's on hold. If we can raise the money it would really help.
