A YORK MP has called on government to ban social media for under-16s, saying "let kids be kids".
Luke Charters, York Outer MP has called on the government to consider a social media ban for children under the age of 16, saying the move would be a necessary step to safeguard young people’s wellbeing and give them the childhood they deserve.
It comes amid the government’s assurance that it would back regulator Ofcom should it restrict UK access to X if it continues in failing to comply with online safety measures - harming both children and adults.
