Nathaniel Greenhouse, 13, who won the Sibling of the Year award at the national Sense Awards back in 2019, is walking a marathon - 26.2 miles - around the Millennium Way and a circuit of the city walls on Saturday (May 31).
He is fundraising for St John Ambulance, which he has been part of since he was just seven. He was inspired to join St John Ambulance by his brothers health needs.
He support his older brother, Alexander, 15 who suffers from epilepsy, autism and learning difficulties.
Proud mum, Annie, said: "He really is a wonderful young man. Alexander's needs are quite complex and he has a lot of seizures - he can have many a day and it can be anywhere so it's been natural for Nathaniel to want to support and help his brother.
"As a 13 year-old-boy he should be spending time with his friends, but if his brother wants him, instead of cycling home from school with friends, he come to be with his brother instead.
"This year he will have completed more than 150 hours of voluntary service for St John since he started - he's part of the Selby unit and on the youth forum for Selby and York.
"He’s supported his brother through many frightening moments, always calm, always ready.
"That sense of responsibility and care sparked something powerful in him: a deep passion for helping others.
