A CRASH has closed a main road in North Yorkshire after an oil spillage.
North Yorkshire Police said it happened near Ripon on the A61 at Daffodil Bends around 6.30am this morning (May 1).
The force said the A61 is currently closed between Bishop Monkton and the Quarry Moor roundabout in Ripon and motorists should avoid the area.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said the carriageway will need cleaning before the road can be open again.
The AA are reporting that a diversion is in operation via the A1(M).
The Press will bring more information when we get it.
