North Yorkshire Police has confirmed there are "a number" of active investigations into alleged spiking offences within Club Salvation, in George Hudson Street.
The Press approached the police and the club after students in the city raised concerns over their safety during nights at the venue.
A Club Salvation spokesperson said: "The Salvation team is aware of allegations relating to customer safety inside and outside the club. We are working closely with the relevant bodies and authorities to address these concerns.
"We take the safety and well-being of our guests extremely seriously and the allegations that have been reported to us by various local community groups, are not being taken lightly."
The club said it has organised sessions with stakeholders over the concerns.
