North Yorkshire Police is appealing for information about an attempted burglary of the Grosvenor Salon in Grosvenor Terrace.
It happened between 4.30pm on Friday, February 21, and 8.30am the following day, officers said.
"The suspects caused damage to the shopfront," they added.
"We are appealing for any information and asking residents to review any privately-owned CCTV that may have captured anything of interest."
