A weather warning has been issued for York with heavy rain expected to continue today (August 14).

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain for parts of the UK including York and Ryedale until 9pm tonight.

Forecasters say there is a small chance that homes and business could be flooded due to the weather, with delays also possible on the roads.

They added that there is a “slight chance” of power cuts.
