A village pub west of York which closed ‘suddenly’ will be back open tomorrow.

The Bay Horse in Green Hammerton closed on July 28 “due to unforeseen circumstances.”

The 17th century pub announced on social media that its landlord and landlady Jon and Tina Clarke would be leaving at the end of the month.

Last night, it was announced on social media that the Bay Horse, which is owned by Greene King, will be re-opening tomorrow (Saturday).

New landlord and landlady Brett and Bronte Jackson introduced themselves as the pub’s new landlord and landlady.

The couple posted: “We are delighted to announce that we are your new landlord and landlady of Green Hammerton’s local pub - The Bay Horse

“WOW do we have big boots to fill! Massive thank you to Jon and Tina Clarke for all of their support.”

Jon and Tina had run the Bay Horse for nine years.
