S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy has awarded Kurtus Auty of Bosun’s Restaurant in York, with its Fine Dining Lovers Food for Thought award.
Kurtus, a former student at Selby College, has had a successful career as a chef at restaurants such as Pucci in Mayfair and Mere by Monica Galetti, Kurtus also had a stint on Master Chef The Professionals in 2019.
Kurtus competed against some of the best young chefs in the UK and won the Fine Dining Lovers Food For Thought Award for his signature dish, Courgette Dive.
The 26-year-old is head chef at Bosun’s Restaurant in York and has worked his way up in the culinary industry having taught himself how to cook food through watching YouTube videos.
After moving to London at 18, Kurtus enrolled at Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant, Maze, as chef de partie, before heading to the Michelin star restaurant Pétrus in Knightsbridge.
