Glaswegian Adele Sharp was in York to be sentenced for going equipped for theft on February 20 last year.
Kay Barnard, prosecuting, said after she was fined at York Magistrates' Court the 41-year-old Scot went to the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet off the York Outer Ring Road where she raided three shops, stealing clothing worth more than £2,000 and cosmetics worth £389.
Sharp was not at court to be sentenced for the thefts. She sent a message via her solicitor Chris McGrogan that her tyre had gone flat at Scotch Corner, where the A66 and A1(M) meet.
She had not attended an earlier sentencing hearing because she had wanted to look after her dog, the court heard.
