A POPULAR York curry house has been judged among the best in England.

Bombay Spice in Goodramgate has won the Outstanding Restaurant of the Year in the English Curry Awards 2023.

The regular award winner has also won Dining Experience of the Year for the Yorkshire and Humber Region.

The accolades, in the 13th annual such awards, follow the restaurant being a finalist in the English Curry Award in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018.

It has also won in the awards in 2015 for Team and Service of the year and in 2016 for Best restaurant of the Year in Yorkshire and England. It also was a finalist for chef of the year in 2016.

Restaurant manager Mohammad Ali Akbar said: “We Believe we won because we provide true authentic Indian food. Our food brings people together, ensuring the flavours speak for itself.

“We use fresh produce and provide consistency in the flavours and the cooking method. We know our customers enjoy the food we provide through there positive feedbacks personally and through reviews left via digital platforms.
