Marcus Skeet, who lives in Norton, ran 837 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats for charity Mind. The 17-year-old, who completed his challenge yesterday (Thursday) has so far raised £111,000.
He said: "It has been two of the most difficult but greatest months of my life.
"I’m an emotional mess but I just want to say, no matter how dark a place you are in. It can and will get better. Two years ago I was in the darkest place in my life, two years later we have made history.
"Thank you to everyone who believed in me. I love you all very much. I’ll do a post when I’m able to process what’s just happened. Mental health matters."
A spokesperson for Mind said: "You only went and did it, Marcus!!! You should be so so proud of this absolutely immense achievement - we certainly are. Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your absolutely mindblowing fundraising. The money you've raised will make a huge difference in the fight for better mental health for everyone. Now, go rest and celebrate!!"
Marcus, known online as Thehullboy, due to his love of Hull City football club, only started running a year ago, beginning with a 'mile-a-day challenge.
He has been supported on the challenge by his parents, Jayne and Philip, who has dementia, along with best friend, Harry as support driver.
