Tadcaster Grammar School is closed to all students and staff today (January 6).
Head teacher Andrew Parkinson sent a message out to parents on Sunday.
He said: "We visited the site this afternoon and assessed the surrounding roads and condition of the school grounds, alongside communicating with the school bus companies.
"With a further weather warning in place for tomorrow, we believe that asking students, parents and staff to travel during the ongoing weather warning for ice would not be appropriate.
"Due to external power outages, the heating control system has also tripped out and, at present, we cannot be assured that the temperature in buildings would be appropriate at any time tomorrow.
