Vault Seven, a new vintage shop selling clothing, jewellery, vintage toys, and books has opened in Lendal - just in time for Christmas.
Business partners Sammy Clews, 25, and Betsy Vaca, 25, opened the doors to their shop last Thursday (December 12) after signing up for the site just over a week before that.
Having previously owned a kilo sale business, selling vintage clothes by weight at universities across the country, Sammy made the decision to open in York after seeing a gap in the market compared to other cities around the region and was keen to get in ahead of the festive period.
He said: “Coming from Wetherby, I’ve seen that Leeds is absolutely full of vintage shops. I have a friend who tried to open one in Harrogate and that didn’t go so well so I thought York has a few, it would be nice to try and open a shop here.”
