The man was pronounced dead at the scene on the A169 Blue Bank in Sleights, near Whitby, on Tuesday evening (September 16).
North Yorkshire Police said the man, from the Whitby area, was the sole rider of the red Honda CBR 650 and crashed travelling southbound.
The force said the crash happened shortly after 6pm and the road was closed until 2am on Wednesday.
“We would like to thank the members of the public who assisted at the scene,” a spokesperson said.
