North Yorkshire Police has “ruled out any third-party involvement” in the woman’s death at a home in Tang Hall on Sunday (January 5).
A force spokesperson said the decision followed a post-mortem examination and the death was not being treated as suspicious.
The woman has not been named by police.
Yesterday (Monday, January 6) North Yorkshire Police said a man in his 40s was arrested in connection with the investigation and taken into custody.
As The Press reported, police and paramedics were called to the scene at about 9.45am on Sunday.
A scene guard was in place on Sunday in Sixth Avenue and officers were knocking on doors asking if any residents had information about the incident, according to reports on social media.
Three police vans were on the scene as well as an ambulance.
Crime scene investigation officers were also seen taking photographs.
Officers remained on the scene yesterday.
