Insurance giant Aviva PLC says it momentum continues, with Group Chief Executive Officer Amanda Blanc calling the results ‘outstanding.’
The profit increase from £875 million to £1,068million, however, does not yet include figures from insurer Direct Line, whose acquisition was completed in July.
Aviva reported General Insurance premiums increased 7 per cent to £6,290 million in the half year to June 30, compared with £6,005 million in the first half of 2024.
In the UK and Ireland, General Insurance Premiums were up 9 per cent to £4,141million, compared with £3,809million in the first half of 2024.
UK personal lines premiums grew by 3% supported by growth in Intermediated, including the travel partnership with Nationwide. UK commercial lines premiums grew 15% due to pricing actions, new business growth and the acquisition of insurance company Probitas, which takes Aviva into the Lloyds market.
