Anna Graves passed away after having a spontaneous subarachnoid haemorrhage – a type of stroke caused by bleeding on the brain.
She was found unresponsive in her bedroom by a friend at her father’s home in York on Sunday, August 18.
Anna, who cared for end-of-life patients, was taken to York Hospital then transferred to Hull Royal Infirmary where her life support machine was turned off the following day.
Her mother, Emma Parsons, has been left devastated by Anna’s passing.
And as the brain bleed was spontaneous, she does not know why it happened.
"She was fine the last time anyone spoke to her in the morning at around 8am,” the 46-year-old, from Wakefield, said. "The bleed is spontaneous, therefore there is no cause known."
