The White Bear Inn in Main Street, Stillington, has been listed for £985,000 by Barry Crux estate agents. Built in the 1700s, the pub was first used as a stopping point for coaches travelling from Leeds to Helmsley, whilst travelling through York.
Its ground floor includes a bar and restaurant area, above is a four bedroom accommodation for the publicans family.
In the listing, a spokesperson for Barry Crux said: "A historic end of terrace two storey property with colour washed elevations under a pitched tiled roof.
"To the rear there are extensive single-storey extensions mainly under pitched tiled roofs, housing storage and the letting cottages."
Previous owners Phil and Sue Robinson also ran The Ainsty Hotel from 1989-1993, before taking on the lease of The White Bear Inn in 1995 and purchasing it freehold in 1998.
The sale of The White Bear Inn comes as the couple looks to retire.
Figures from the last financial year showed average net turnover of just under £8,000 per week on wet and dry sales combined, and close to £2,000 per week on accommodation.
Barry Crux says the listing has been in place since mid November, with the current owners also considering a leasehold sale.
