A village west of York may face a development of 1,100 homes, which if approved, would double its size.
Land promoter Hallam Land sees Tockwith Airfield as a site for suitable development, which would also include a primary school, convenience store, health centre, community hub and sports facilities.
The company, which is promoting sites for development nationally, has asked North Yorkshire Council whether it needs to produce an Environmental Impact Assessment as part of any future planning application for the 130-acre site west of Tockwith village, between York and Wetherby.
