
A man has been arrested after testing positive for cannabis during a roadside stop near York.
The incident occurred at around 11:40pm on Sunday 8th June, when police stopped a black BMW on the A1(M).
Officers reported detecting a strong smell of cannabis coming from inside the vehicle. As a result, the driver was subjected to a roadside drug test, which returned a positive result for cannabis.
The 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and remains in custody as police enquiries continue.
