Man Arrested After Robbery in York

A man has been arrested following a robbery near St Barnabas Church on Jubilee Terrace in York.

The incident occurred just before 7pm on Monday 14 July, when three male suspects were seen assaulting a teenage boy and stealing his rucksack.

North Yorkshire Police responded swiftly to the scene. The suspects fled into a nearby housing estate, discarding the stolen rucksack, which was later recovered and returned to the victim thanks to a vigilant member of the public.

An 18-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of robbery.

The victim sustained a broken nose and facial injuries.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam or video doorbell footage of the incident or aftermath.
