WE'RE like a big family - with space and a role for everybody.
That's the ethos of NETheatre which has its roots firmly within the heart of York theatre community.
Formed in 1914 as the New Earswick Dramatic Society it has witnessed two world wars, global pandemics and man's success in space and moon landings.
Since 2014 – and with new direction – it has found itself in an unique place as a community theatre group affectionately called by all as their "NE family".
So says NETheatre York director Steve Tearle, whose newest production of Roald Dahl's Charlie and The Chocolate Factory prepares for a week-long run at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre from Saturday.
