Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland Returns to Designer Outlet York for 20th Anniversary Season

Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland – the award-winning festive attraction featuring the North of England’s largest outdoor ice rink, a traditional funfair and Santa’s Grotto – will return to McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York from Friday 14th November 2025 to Sunday 4th January 2026.

This year marks a special milestone, as the event celebrates its 20th anniversary. First launched in 2005 as The Ice Factor at the Eye of York near Clifford’s Tower, it relocated to the Designer Outlet in 2010 and has grown into a highlight of Yorkshire’s Christmas calendar.

At the heart of the event is the 975 sq m outdoor ice rink, complete with a 30ft Christmas tree, illuminated surroundings, rink-side café, terrace and viewing platform. The rink will host eleven 45-minute sessions daily (plus an early morning weekend slot), with the popular Frequent Skater Pass returning once again.

The funfair will feature a mix of modern and vintage rides, including the Waltzer, Miami, Twist, and the much-loved 1937 Dodgems. Younger visitors can enjoy children’s rides and prize stalls.

Visitors can also relax at the alpine-themed Chalet café, enjoy seasonal treats from the German Grill, and follow the snowy woodland walk to Santa’s cosy log cabin grotto – where children will receive a warm welcome and a special festive gift.
