A MAJOR route through York will close for a weekend as a new bridge is set to be installed as part of the York Central project.
Part of Water End – between its junctions with Poppleton Road and Salisbury Road - will be closed between 9pm on Friday, October 17 and 12am on Monday, October 20 for the installation of a new bridge.
The pedestrian and cycle bridge, which will not open until 2027, is part of the next phase of the York Central infrastructure works and will run alongside the existing rail bridge at Water End to provide safer access into the new development.
