One of York's city centre markets is in the competition for the 'Best Outdoor Market' title at the Great British Market Awards 2025.
The annual awards are organised by the National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA).
The Shambles Market is York’s only permanent outdoor market and is found between the Shambles and Parliament Street.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of stalls selling local handmade products, unique crafts, and regional treats, alongside the Shambles Food Court, which serves up street food from all corners of the globe.
Sarah Loftus, managing director of Make It York, said: "The Shambles Market has always been at the heart of our community, and our team works tirelessly to create an outstanding experience for our residents, our visitors and our traders.
"Thank you to all the traders whose commitment continues to drive the market’s growth and future success.
"We would love your support to help us celebrate it, please spread the word and vote for us!"
