York Dragon Boat Race

We need your help! 

We are still a few people short to help us row in the Dragon Boat Race on the 10th July which we are doing in support of The Wilberforce Trust.

The Wilberforce Trust offers supportive housing, supported living, sensory impairment assessments, sight registrations, rehabilitation support and much more. If you would like to volunteer to help us out, please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you!

Fundraising

Each team is required to raise not less than £1,500 as sponsorship as a condition of taking part and YO1 Radio hopes to raise much more!

One third of the total sponsorship raised by each team will be shared between York Rotary's local nominated charities for 2022 which are Accessible Art & Media and  Antibiotic Research UK   

The remaining two thirds will go to our chosen charity - The Wilberforce Trust.

York Dragon Boat Race

On July 10th 2022, 36 teams will be battling it out on the River Ouse (between Scarborough Bridge and Lendal Bridge) for the Challenge Trophy and other prestigious awards, including awards for the fastest Charity Team, fastest Armed Services Team, and of course the  "Best Dressed Team" trophy.

The York Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge has been held annually since 2003. Over the past 20 years the cumulative amount raised, for a whole host of worthwhile local charities, is over £1,300,000!
