North Yorkshire Police say the force is investigating an incident of criminal damage to a white Ford, Fiesta registration number MA67DWV parked outside a house in Clifton.
A force spokesman said: "The vehicle was parked outside number 2, Newborough, Street and the offence happened between 4.30pm on Saturday, March 22 and 11am the following morning, between these times an unknown offender knocked the driver's side wing mirror off.
"Do you have any information which would assist North Yorkshire Police in finding those responsible and help keep your community safe?
"Did you or anyone who you live with, hear, or see anything around the above time and date?
"Do you have any CCTV coverage capturing the offence, or anything happening in the area before or after?
"Do you have a vehicle with a dash-cam parked in the area?"
