A café owner says that a recent inspection - which saw the business handed a zero star food hygiene rating - was a "real shock".
Gelato Lounge in Market Weighton, East Yorkshire, received the rating after an inspection by East Riding Council’s food hygiene team at its Southgate café on October 10, 2025.
Owner Lee Rooks said the visit took place during a particularly busy period while he was temporarily away from the business - with issues stemming from systems put in place after previous assessments.
