Sheila Leadbeater, 71, is alleged to have crashed into a car driven by Nicholas Davey on March 30, 2023. He was seriously injured and died in hospital some days later on April 8.
The collision is alleged to have occurred at the junction west of Tockwith where Fleet Lane, Rudgate, Tockwith Lane and Cattal Moor Lane form a crossroads. Mr Davey was 38 and lived in Bradford.
Members of his family were in court to hear Leadbeater, of Main Street, Newton Kyme, near Tadcaster, plead not guilty to causing his death by dangerous driving when she appeared before York Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
Her case was adjourned for trial until February 17 next year and she was released on bail. The Recorder of York, Judge Sean Morris, ordered that the case returns to York Crown Court in late July for a case management hearing.
In March 2023, police said the crash happened about 2.55pm and involved a white Vauxhall Astra and green Mini Clubman Cooper.
Police, fire and ambulance attended and the road was closed until 8.55pm to allow investigators to assess the scene.
