Come and join us for Now That’s What I Call Dancing – a project celebrating diverse voices in York!

Feeling creative?
Got something to say?
Love dance, theatre and trying new things?

Spiltmilk Dance, in association with York Theatre Royal, are bringing an exciting new project to York, and are looking for local people to get involved.
NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED and you don’t even have to dance!
Now That's What I Call Dancing will invite 10 people from across the city, at 10 different stages of life to each create a short dance on 2 professional performers, about absolutely anything.

You will be guided through a fun, friendly process, to create something brilliant!
All 10 dances will then be woven together to create a performance celebrating thoughts, wisdom and flights of fancy of local people of all ages.

As a company, Spiltmilk Dance are fascinated by the things within popular culture that unite people from different walks of life - the trends we follow, the food we eat, the songs we listen to and the dances we do on a night out.

In an age when so much seems to be dividing the nation, Spiltmilk Dance firmly believe in the importance of creating intergenerational work using common ground we all share.

Now That’s What I Call Dancing has been generously supported by York Theatre Royal and The National Lottery through Arts Council England.
